The 2025 Annual Meeting of China's All-Solid-State Battery Industry-Academia-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform and the 2nd China All-Solid-State Battery Innovation & Development Summit Forum were held.

On February 15, 2025, the 2025 China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform Annual Conference and the 2nd China All-Solid-State Battery Innovation Development Summit Forum were held in Beijing, hosted by the China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform. The event, themed "Innovation and R&D Platform Upgrade for All-Solid-State Battery Materials," brought together over 400 representatives from government, industry, academia, research institutions, and finance sectors.

 

During the conference, eight academicians, six industry organizations, more than 60 experts and scholars, along with over 200 representatives from vehicle manufacturers, battery companies, material suppliers, various research institutions, and multiple local government delegations, came together to focus on advancements in materials science, cutting-edge new processes and equipment, and industry trends. They also discussed innovative breakthroughs and challenges in all-solid-state batteries.

 

 

On-site, Miao Wei, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee, as well as former Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered remarks. Chen Li-quan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairperson of the Expert Committee for the China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform, also spoke. Wang Jian-hua, President of the China Association for Promoting Industry-University Cooperation, gave a keynote speech. Meanwhile, Ouyang Ming-gao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform, presented a main report. Sun Shi-gang, another academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor at Xiamen University, and Vice Chairperson of the Expert Committee for the platform, along with Wang De-ping, Chief Scientist of FAW Group and Director of the National Key Laboratory for Advanced Vehicle Integration and Control at the R&D Center (Department of Science and Technology Innovation Management), and Sun Hua-jun, CTO of BYD Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., each delivered their own thematic speeches. Zheng Hong-yu, Vice Chairman of the China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform, and Chen Jun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice Chairperson of the Expert Committee for the platform, served as moderators.

Chen Zhongwei, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, along with expert representatives from key research institutions including the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 18th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, and the Guolian Automotive Power Battery Research Institute.

 

Financial experts from China Cinda, the National Green Development Fund, CICC Capital, China National Investment Fund, CITIC Securities Capital, as well as representatives from Sichuan Development, Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, Yibin Development Group, Ordos City State Investment, and Zhongguancun Development Group;

 

The head of Hanergy Technology also attended this meeting.

 

Concurrently with the conference, the 2025 Annual High-Level Closed-Door Meeting of China's Collaborative Innovation Platform for All-Solid-State Batteries—bringing together industry, academia, and research institutions—was held. Attendees engaged in an in-depth discussion on the overarching strategic framework for advancing all-solid-state battery technology in China, clarified key definitions and standards related to these cutting-edge batteries, and reached a shared consensus, reinforcing their strategic confidence. Moving forward, all stakeholders from industry, academia, and research will work closely together, seizing opportunities, addressing challenges head-on, and delivering solid, results-oriented efforts to achieve the ambitious goal of industrializing all-solid-state batteries at an early date.
