On April 14, Wu Qinghua, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, visited the city's High-Tech Zone to conduct a work inspection. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Hubei Province, and to follow the deployment requirements set forth at the province's "First Meeting of the New Year." He urged strengthening the sense of being a pivotal point, raising development standards, maintaining strategic focus, and firmly shouldering the responsibility for growth. Additionally, he stressed the importance of steadfastly fostering and developing new-quality productivity, while making every effort to build a demonstration zone for innovation-driven development, a pioneering area for high-quality growth, and a leading region propelling the rise of the city center—thus contributing even more significantly to accelerating the city's efforts in becoming a key growth pole and an important engine of regional development.
Wu Qinghua visited Hubei Huazhong Yangtze Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd.,Hanertech (Wuhan) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd., and Hubei Shengjian Equipment Co., Ltd., where he inspected production lines and product displays on-site. He encouraged the companies to stay confident, seize market trends, identify the right direction, and steadily advance on the path of high-quality development—striving to strengthen their brands and enhance product quality. Additionally, he urged relevant authorities to step up efforts in helping businesses overcome challenges, foster stronger industrial collaboration and supply-chain integration, and support enterprises in maintaining full production capacity while pursuing even greater growth.
At the site of the Yuanzhen Microelectronics project, which aims to produce 20,000 xMR quantum materials annually and is part of the Computing Power Ecosystem Industrial Park, Wu Qinghua inspected the construction progress on-site. He emphasized the need to strengthen resource guarantees, optimize construction planning, and accelerate the project's development—boosting productivity, enhancing quality, and improving efficiency—to foster new momentum and competitive advantages for growth. Next, Wu Qinghua visited the Yueyue Bay Hotel in the Dengjiahe area, where he listened to updates on the project's progress. He stressed the importance of paying close attention to details and raising standards, ensuring that the project not only aligns with the region's status as a central urban hub but also harmonizes seamlessly with the city's overall development trajectory.
During the调研, Wu Qinghua emphasized that the city's High-Tech Zone is the primary battleground for Xiaogang’s rise as a major urban center. He urged everyone to further align their thinking and actions with the municipal Party Committee’s strategic decisions, firmly committing to expanding industry and strengthening the core city. This includes accelerating efforts to propel the city’s resurgence and elevate its overall development capabilities. It is crucial to firmly grasp high-quality development as the top priority, while remaining steadfast in seizing opportunities amid challenges to boost investment and stabilize growth. We must proactively plan and implement a batch of large-scale, pioneering, and highly impactful projects—whether they’re cutting-edge technology initiatives or exemplary ones—that drive innovation across the board. By fostering deep integration between technological and industrial innovation, we can revitalize traditional growth engines, nurture emerging strengths, and ensure that our city not only adapts but thrives in the face of an increasingly uncertain external environment. Moreover, we must seize this golden window of opportunity for development, acting decisively and swiftly on promising initiatives. This means vigorously advancing comprehensive land consolidation projects across the entire region, while also exploring innovative approaches to leveraging fund investments for sustainable industrial growth. At the same time, we should expedite the enhancement of public service infrastructure and upscale commercial offerings, continuously bolstering the city’s appeal and its ability to attract industries. Ultimately, by demonstrating greater leadership and taking bold steps forward, we can play a more significant role in writing a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization tailored to Xiaogang’s unique context.
The Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, Dai Shaoping, participated in the research visit.
