Electric shock emergency drills: Building a solid lifeline | Hanertech (SuZhou) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd conducts electric shock emergency drills
2023-06-05
To enhance employees' safety awareness, their ability to respond effectively, and their capacity to handle emergencies, ensuring the safety of both life and property, Hanertech (SuZhou) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd. also aims to strengthen the factory's emergency rescue capabilities, enabling efficient management of unexpected incidents and establishing a comprehensive, scientifically sound, and effective emergency response system. On May 31, 2023, the company conducted an on-site emergency drill focused on electric shock injuries.
This drill primarily simulates a scenario where a production operator, due to an operational mistake, damages the insulation layer of an electric fan's wiring. Unaware of the potential hazard, the operator directly touches the exposed wire, resulting in an electrocution accident. Before the official drill begins, safety officer Tian Yunlong will explain the purpose of this emergency response exercise for electric shock incidents, as well as the key procedures and precautions to follow.

As an employee collapsed to the ground with a loud "Ah," the drill officially began. Upon discovering the electrocution incident, employees on-site immediately shouted for help and promptly notified the shift supervisor and production manager. The supervisor and manager swiftly rushed to the scene, quickly switched off the power supply and used a dry wooden stick to separate the victim from the live wires—preventing prolonged contact between the person and the electrical source. They then immediately reported the situation to the company’s emergency rescue team and promptly dialed the 120 emergency hotline. Within minutes, the rescue team arrived, safely moved the victim to a secure area, and immediately initiated life-saving first aid measures, including performing CPR according to the proper procedures.

The entire drill was seamlessly coordinated, with participants acting swiftly and working closely together, achieving the intended outcomes. It successfully tested the effectiveness of the emergency response plan and further strengthened our efforts in safety and emergency preparedness. After the drill concluded, all participants watched a detailed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instructional video and then engaged in a focused, hands-on simulation to reinforce their CPR skills.

During this drill, employees remained calm and handled the situation in an orderly manner, making correct decisions and responding promptly when faced with the emergency. After the drill concluded smoothly, company leaders summarized the exercise, noting that it had significantly enhanced employees' ability to self-rescue and assist others in the event of a sudden accident. The drill also helped clarify the roles and responsibilities of relevant department personnel, further strengthening the company's emergency response mechanisms. Overall, this electric shock emergency drill greatly improved employees' capacity for self-rescue under hazardous conditions such as electric shocks, comprehensively boosting the factory's readiness to respond swiftly and effectively to unexpected incidents. This, in turn, provides a solid safeguard for safe production, ensuring that, should an accident occur, the company can organize resources efficiently, react rapidly, maintain composure under pressure, and minimize the impact of the incident to the greatest extent possible.
